Abstract (EN)

Antiandrogens are used in the treatment of metastatic prostatic carcinoma. They are nowadays used for various indications and in younger age groups. We aimed to investigate the effects of antiandrogens on male sexual organs of rats.In four groups (control, flutamide, bicalutamide, cyproterone acetate) after a period of 14 days of administration, testes, seminal vesicles and prostates were excised.Only cyproterone acetate, a steroidal antiandrogen, caused histopathological changes in testes. The other two antiandrogens, nonsteroidal structurally, caused no changes in any organs. It was suggested that the effect of cyproterone acetate may be related to its steroidal structure.
