Abstract (EN)
In this study, we tried to determine the seasonal change of root biomass in oak tree stands and adjacent grasslands at different slope group and aspects, in Saçinka region, Artvin. For this purpose, 30 test areas were chosen randomly 15 from each oak forest and adjacent grassland in the borders of Saçinka Forestry Management in Artvin Forestry Directorate. In these chosen test areas, change of the root biomass depended on vegetation, slope and aspect, was investigated. To determine the root biomass, totally 300 samples were taken from each testing areas in two season. Samples were cleaned from soil, branches and leaf pieces and roots were analysed. According to evaluating the datas of analyse results, total root biomass in oak stands was more than in grassland. Fine, small and total root biomass decreased depended on increase of slope in grassland. Fine root biomass increased, coarse and total root biomass decreased depended on increase of slope in oak stands. Considering last of vegetation season, total root biomass in South aspects was more than in North aspects, and total root biomass was found 9789 kg/ha in grasslands and 20575 kg/ha in oak stands.Key words: Fıne root, Total root, Oak, Sacinka, Artvin.
