Abstract (EN)
While cyanobacteria are a concern worldwide due to their excessive growth and the toxins they produce, they are a good tool for many industries with the discovery of new bioactive compounds. In this study, total of 63 cyanobacteria isolates were purified from the sampling regions and 16S rRNA + ITS + 23S30R rRNA ITS sequence analysis revealed that these isolates belonged to the order Pseudanabaenales, Synechococcales, Nostacales and Oscillatoriales. It was found that the isolates associated with the Pseudanabaena lonchoides and Cyanobacterium aponinum sequences were common, while the isolates belonging to the Oscillatoria sp., Cylindrospermum sp. and Nostoc sp. sequences were found to be less numerous. Positive PCR products were obtained for McyB and McyE gene regions in Tersakan Stream and Tersakan Lake eDNA samples. In addition, 0,467 μg L-1 was detected in Tersakan Stream, 0,189 μg L-1 in Yedikır Dam and 0,411 μg L-1 Microcystin-LR in Tersakan Lake.Cyanobacteria extracts were found to have significant antimicrobial activity, especially on Gram-positive test bacteria. In addition, the antioxidant activity of the extracts was revealed by DPPH and FRAP methods, and as a result of the total amount of phenolic substances and GC-MS analysis, it was found that they contain metabolites (fatty acids, terpenoids, alkaloids, phenolics, etc.) that support their biological activities. Our study is important because it is the first study performed with molecular techniques at selected sampling points. In addition, these isolates, whose biological activities and metabolite profiles were determined, will shed light on biotechnology studies.
