Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, MgB2 bulk superconductors were produced by hot-press and solid state sintering method using Mg powder and B powders with different properties. Nine different boron powders, which differ in grain size, purity and crystallinity, were mixed with a single type of magnesium powder in a agate mortar in appropriate sizes for a certain period of time, and each mixture was pressed in the hot press mold used for the experimental study. In order to understand the effects of boron powders with different properties on superconductivity, the sintering process was carried out in a tube furnace at the same temperature and heating-cooling rates. For each sample, XRD, SEM, EDX and magnetic levitation analysis were performed. As a result of the measurements and analyzes, the effects of the boron powder used in the production of MgB2 on the superconducting properties of the compound were investigated and the optimum boron powder was determined.
