ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF DIFFERENT TEMPERATURE ANİ) UUMID1 TY CONDITIONS ON PRODUCTION PROPERTIES OF BROILERS FROM DIFFERENT GENOTYPES SEZAT ALKAN Dh. D. Thessis, Department of Animal Science Adviser : Prof. Dr. Salim MUTAF January 2003, 87 pages Tn this research, it was aimed to determine the effects of summer and winter conditions of Antalya region on some production characteristics of broilers. Both in summer and winter seasons, two different genotypes were used such as heterozygous naked neck and local genotype in this research. Both in summer and winter seasons, the broilers were fed as adlibitium. In summer, temperature and moisture of inside the poultry house arc 28.35+0.98"C, %54.52±1.9 in 4th week; 27. 1 3±0;63°C, %85.58±1.98 in 5th week and 28.98±1.I6 °C, %62.85 ±3.58 in 6th week, respectively. Also in winter, temperature and moisture of inside the poultry house are 11.61+0.44°C, %78.04+1.34 in 4th week; 9.90±0.54°C, %70.22±1. 1 3 in 5th week and 1 1. 1 1+0.46 °C, %82.40±0.74 in 6xh week, respectively. In summer, there was a significant difference between genotypes for body temperature of broilers. It was 42.07+0.31 7C° for the local genotype and 41.73+0. 1 1 9C° for the heterozygous naked neck. However, in winter experiment, body temperature 41.38±0.062C° and 41.19+0.1 19C° broilers from local and heterozygous naked neck genotypes, respectively. IllThe heterozygous naked neck broilers consumed more food intake in winter (3806. 15g) than in summer season (3587. 86g). However, food consumption was similar between seasons ((3971.39g for Summer and 4121. 19g for winter) for local broiler. Local broilers were heavier than heterozygous naked neck broilers in winter. But in summer, there was not significant difference between genotypes for body weight and the heterozygous naked neck broilers were 2029.75±27.1g while broilers from local broilers were 1986. 8±26.6g.
