Abstract (EN)
Uracil is one of four nucleobases located in the structure of ribonucleic acids. Uracil derivatives have been identified as having many biological and chemotherapeutic sites. The carbonic anhydrase (CA) (E.C. 4.2.1.1) enzyme is a very important enzyme that reversibly catalyzes the conversion of HCO3- and H+ to hydration of CO2 in almost all living organisms. Glutathione reductase (GR) is the most known member of the family of flavoprotein oxidoreductase enzymes, which catalyzes the conversion of enzyme oxidized glutathione (GSH) to reduced form (GSH), and is also the most important enzyme involved in glutathione metabolism. In this study, affinity gel was used to purify human erythrocyte carbonic anhydrase enzyme. Glutathione reductase enzyme was purified. In the second part of the study, the inhibitory effects of some uracil derivatives on these enzymes were examined. For this purpose, IC50 values were calculated for these substances which showed inhibitory effect on enzyme activities.
