Abstract (EN)

The aim of this retrospective study was to investigate whether ovarian volume and blood flow can be used as ovarian reserve test and whether it could be a predictor of outcomes IVF. We compared ovarian volume, stromal blood flow and anti-mullerian hormone concentration between fertile women and infertile women. To understand whether can we detect ovarian aging by ultrasound the groups were divided into two groups (30-35, 36-40 years) Total ovarian volume, antral follicle count, total vascularization index, total flow index and total vascularization-flow index were obtained by three-dimensional ultrasonography and power doppler angiography . These parameters were tested for their relation with anti-mullerian hormone. Significant differences were found in total AFC between fertile and infertile women aged 30-35 years. Also, significant differences were found in total AFC between fertile and infertile women aged 36-40 years. AMH concentration was higher in younger group (30-35 years) than in older group (36-40 years) both in fertile and infertile women. The correlation between age and ovarian volume and power doppler indices of ovarian stromal blood flow was not found in this study. We could not find any correlation between AMH and ovarian volume and stromal blood flow indices. In conclusion, the results obtained from our study prove that AMH is the best biomarker and AFC is the best ultrasonographic marker in the evaluation of ovarian reserve and ovarian aging.
