Content of ?De La Sonorite ? method of Marcel Moyse in flute training and study methods

The purpose of this study is to explain the contents of ?De La Sonorite-Art Et Technique? originator of several flute methods on ?tone concept? and ?sonorite? in Europe and the United States of America since 20th century and representing French ecole and present the difference of ?de la sonorite? in contrast with other flute methods and the level of usability in our country.The study is a descriptive research and it has been conducted by source scanning and interview method. The information provided in the method has been compared to the data obtained from the previous thesis, different flute methods and the papers which have been written on tone development of the flute and then presented hereunder. In addition, information about the study, some masterpieces and etudes making it easy to play flute has been provided for each of five seperate headings in the method.It has also be underlined that mechanisms developed by flute makers and materials from past up to today have all contributed in achievement of ?nice sonority? and each novelty has been listed in chronological order. The interpretations and findings were obtained by interwieving in the direction of questions which had been prepared for the flutists and the flute teachers in our country.In conclusion, it is confirmed that "De La Sonority" method is used in flute lessons, that it differences from other flute methods in its aspect of improving the tone and the sonority and that air, diaphragm technique and embouchure aspect affect the quality of the tone and also some suggestions about the studying methods are stated.Key words: Flute, Flute education, Marcel Moyse, De La Sonorite
