Abstract (EN)
Flexible metal forming studies aim to develop sustainable processes with low tool dependency. There are different ways to make a process flexible. This thesis combines different mechanics and presents a new application. The pure shear forming process contains novel mechanics that form sheet metal without thickness change. This thesis aims to develop a novel, sustainable process that can achieve sheet metal forming with no thickness change by changing only the in-plane geometry of the workpiece. The possibility is studied within the thesis with process and test design and supported with finite element analysis. Lastly, physical trials are conducted and compared with the analysis results.
