Abstract (EN)

Asthma is the most common chronic disease of childhood, reaching epidemic proportions in the late 20th century. The World Health Organization reports that 100-150 million people in the world suffer from asthma, this number is increasing gradually and 180,000 people die annually due to asthma. These data make asthma one of the most common chronic diseases in the world. The increasing prevalence of asthma may also be an indication of an increased population risk for the development of other chronic noncommunicable autoimmune diseases. The cause of asthma is not known exactly. Despite the increasing understanding of the complex factors that cause asthma and the development of treatments aimed at reducing the inflammation underlying the disease, the rate of deaths from asthma is increasing. 82% of deaths in asthma occur due to controllable factors . Therefore, it is important for asthma patients to know these factors and change their lifestyles. In the last 2 years, great progress has been made in identifying the potential mechanisms of asthma development and asthma attacks. These new insights have led to the identification and development of exciting new approaches for potential therapeutic intervention.
