Abstract (EN)
The methods of religious and moral education in early childhood have been discussed for many years. This study aims to examine the theoretical and practical aspects of early childhood religious education approaches in Islamic history and modern period. In the study, the literature review method was used and the approaches to early childhood religious education in terms of Islamic religious education and early childhood religious education in the modern education system were analyzed. As a result of the comparative analysis, it has been seen that there are similarities as well as significant differences between the approaches of early childhood religious education in Islam and the approaches of modern education system. Emphasizing children's freedom and independence in the learning process, taking the principles of peace and universality as a basis, and emphasizing the importance of the phenomenon of morality and moral development are seen as common aspects. Early childhood education in Islamic culture is based on religious and moral values, while modern education systems focus on scientific foundations and psychological theories. The aim of education in Islamic culture is to enable children to learn their religious and moral responsibilities and to support their spiritual development. In this context, Qur'anic education and religious knowledge are at the forefront. Modern education systems, on the other hand, emphasize the cognitive, social and emotional development of children. In this system, it is aimed to develop creative thinking, problem solving and communication skills. While Islamic culture emphasizes raising individuals who are compatible with social and religious norms, the modern system prioritizes individual freedom and personal development. The main differences between the two approaches are shaped by philosophical foundations and educational priorities.
