Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of the Playing Skills Support Program (OBEDEP), developed in this study, on the play skills of mothers of children with developmental disabilities between the ages of 0-6. The effectiveness of the Playing Skills Support Program (OBEDEP) was investigated in the study, which was carried out in an experimental design with pretest-posttest control group. The research group consists of the mothers of a total of 14 children, 2 girls and 12 boys, between the ages of 0-6, who were diagnosed with developmental disabilities, who were attending a private special education and rehabilitation institution in the province of Diyarbakır. The data of the study were collected through the Playing Skills Support Program Checklist (OBEDEP-KL). In order to test the effectiveness of the program used in the intervention on the play skills of the mothers, the mothers who formed the research group were divided into two as experimental and control groups. OBEDEP was applied to the mothers in the experimental group once a week for 8 weeks and for 40+40 minutes. Playing skills of mothers in both the experimental and control groups were evaluated with OBEDEP-KL at the 1st and 8th weeks. The obtained data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS 22 program. With these data, Shapiro Wilk's test and skewness and kurtosis values were examined to determine whether the data conformed to the normal distribution. In this study, it was found that the difference between the play skills of the mothers in the experimental group who participated in OBEDEP and the play skills of the mothers in the control group who did not participate in the program was found to be significant. It was determined that there were positive differences in the play skills of the mothers of the children with developmental disabilities, who constituted the experimental group, before and after the intervention.
