The relationship between impact investing and sustainable development in developing countries

This thesis aims to examine the complex relationship between impact investing and sustainable development in the context of developing countries. Using a mixed-methods approach that incorporates qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys, it seeks to empirically determine the extent to which impact investment initiatives influ-ence key development indicators such as poverty reduction, access to education, healthcare provision, and environmental sustainability. Through comprehensive data analysis methodologies, the study anticipates that impact investing is an effective component in driving positive social and environmental change. The findings indicate that impact investing can be a significant driver of sustainable development in poor countries and that impact investments in emerging markets effectively address major social and environmental issues, thereby contributing to the achievement of advanced sustainable development goals. The study also addresses certain limitations and chal-lenges such as scaling, impact measurement, and the alignment of funded programs with local contexts. Based on the findings, a series of recommendations are presented to enhance the effectiveness and scalability of practices in the developing world. By exploring the relationship between impact investing and sustainable development, this research highlights the role of financial instruments in promoting positive change. Moreover, it underscores the necessity of innovation and collaboration in solving global issues and promoting sustainability in developing countries.
