Abstract (EN)
Internet and cyber crimes; easy to process, very low cost of attack, social and commercial costs are among the very high crimes. Therefore, with the innovations brought about by digital transformation, the future of the country's economies, online trade, has reached a point that needs to be carefully considered. The aim of this study is; to measure social engineering and cyber security awareness of young consumers shopping in online environments. The study will contribute to the creation of safe communities and safe online commercial life by ensuring the awareness of safe internet usage in online shopping. In this study; the necessary tactics and precautionary information were given to the online consumers and the businesses that are engaged in online commercial activities in order to manage social engineering and cyber security risks correctly. In addition, a survey was conducted with the participation of 693 students at the Central Campus of Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University. SPSS Version 24 and Amos 22 package programs were used for data analysis. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used in the analyzes. With the analysis, özgün Online Shopping Security Model (OSSM) was created and a unique study in the field was completed. In addition to this model, there is no study that explores the intersections of consumers' online shopping intentions, social engineering and cyber security awareness and identifying the relational links between them. Therefore, the model is original. In the second part of the survey, general evaluation questionnaire was applied and the general evaluations were made as a result of the analyzes made by using descriptive statistics. In the study, it was found that 65% of the very strong rate in the change of social engineering awareness of young consumers was explained by the change in cyber security awareness of young consumers. It has been determined that higher education students need training on information security and safe internet use with all the information transferred.
