Abstract (EN)

Dynamics are the indicators of loudness changes in a musical performance. These indicators do not signify specific and definite loudness levels, and hence, can be interpreted differently by performers. From this perspective, the question of how guitarists interpret dynamic terms constitutes the problem of this research. Focusing on teaching dynamic terms more comprehensibly, the research aims to determine at which volume performers interpret levels the subjective terms piano and forte. Adopting a descriptive research model, one of the quantitative research methods, the performances of the piece named Marieta Mazurka, obtained from the Spotify music-streaming platform, were analysed within the framework of easily accessible sampling techniques. The relevant parts of Marieta Mazurka, containing piano and forte dynamics, were quantified basing on the LUFS method and subjected to descriptive statistical tests. As a result, the research revealed the frequency distribution of the mentioned loudness levels.
