Dystopia and animal in visual arts

In this study, dystopia analyses have been made on animal life from past to present. Literary texts were examined in this context by drawing attention to the historical adventure of dystopia, which emerged as a thought against utopia. An emphasis was made on the living conditions of the animals with whom we share the world. In the first chapter, while examining the birth of utopia, which determined the emergence of dystopia, and its effects on art, attention was drawn to the utopian position of the animal. In the second part of the research, while examining the birth of dystopia and its status in the world, the position of the dystopian animal in contemporary art was addressed. The third part of the research, the studies on dystopian animals in artists and their artworks before and after 1960 were examined. In the last part of the research, the researcher's artworks related to the subject were added. Keywords : Visual arts, utopia, dystopia, animal.
