Abstract (EN)
Created by Sedat Simavi from May 5, 1921 (1337) to August 14, 1923 (1339), Güleryüz is a weekly, literary, political humor newspaper. The newspaper, which includes poetry, story, drama, articles, memorabilia, monologues and jokes, has been published in a period when the War of Independence is at its peak, so it describes the National Struggle in terms of content. Sedat Simavi supported a publication policy that supported the national struggle always given in Anatolia with its writings and cartoons and supporting this struggle. Since Güleryüz is also a humor newspaper, he also criticizes the social, political and cultural issues of the devil with a humorous style. Güleryüz is a humor that aims to make humor think while humor is not only laughing but laughing. From this point of view, we can say that journalists adopt the concept of art for society with both writings and drawings. Keywords: Güleryüz, Güleryüz newspaper, humor, humor press.
