Abstract (EN)
The study titled ?A Comparative Study on Two Translations of Gulistan - Mahmud b. Kadi-i Manyas?s Translation into Old Anatolian Turkish and Hikmet Ilaydın?s Translation into Turkish?- aims to contribute to the research on the development and the transformation process of Old Anatolian Turkish to Turkish. To that end, Gülistan?s - a world famous work of Sadi-i Şirazi, one of the pioneers of Persian literature-translation texts to Old Anatolian Turkish and Turkish have been utilized. Corresponding words in these texts have been studied in terms of voice, structure and meaning; and similarities and differences have been examined. Some words remain the same in either of the periods whereas some have changed in terms of voice and meaning. Differences have occurred in the usage and the frequency of some derivational suffixes. This comparative study sheds some light to these two periods in terms of purification of Turkish language. Keywords: Comparative linguistics, Old Anatolian Turkish, comparative Turkish Grammar, Gulistan
