Abstract (EN)

It was aimed to be analysed association between music teacher candidates' level of academic motivation and their attitudes towards to occupation of music teaching profession in this study. It was used associative scanning method which is one of quantitive research method. This study's sample group consist of 295 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades in department of fine arts of Gazi University, Marmara University and Dokuz Eylül University faculity of education. Data were attained using "Academic Motivation Scale" and "Attitude Scale towards to occupation of music teaching profession. Independent Sample T test, One-Way Anova test, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis H test and Spearman's Rank-Order Correlation test were used in data analysis. According to obtained findings from data analysis, it was concluded that the academic motivation levels of music teacher candidates and their attitudes towards the music teaching profession were high, there was no significant relationship between their academic motivation levels and their attitudes towards the music teaching profession, their academic motivation levels differed in terms of gender and type of high school they graduated from; their attitudes towards the music teaching profession differed in terms of gender, grade level and individual instrument variables. As a result of study, it was tendered suggestions related following studies.
