Abstract (EN)

Anatolia is the center of humanity and civilizations since ancient ages. The city of Kütahya, which is in the middle of the Anatolia had been conquered by lots of countries and came under the heel of Ottoman Empire after all. The city kept up its importance until the late period of Ottomans.The Yearbooks are the statistical information of a province, which includes the subjects of military, administrative, economics, education, population and etc. Our research encapsulates administrative, economics, population, military, social and cultural conditions of the Sanjak of Kütahya, in the Yearbook of the Province of Hüdavendigâr between the years A.H.1287(1870)?A.H.1297(1880). Lots of information can be found in these Yearbooks, which are wide information sources after the administrative reforms in 1839. In here it is possible to see the results (of the changes in administrative field) in the country, all of the office bearers in Sanjaks and Counties, the new established administrative offices and the members of these offices. Besides, the quantity of staff in army, the name and grade of municipal police force are stated in these books. Another point about these Yearbooks is detailed and satisfactory information about the population and income of the Sanjak.These Yearbooks are the best information sources about the result of execution of the administrative reforms in 1839 and the changes in County. Consequently, as the quantity of the researches, which is based upon these Yearbooks, increases, their value will be realized and they will contributes to the regional historiography.Key Words: Kütahya, Sanjak, Yearbook
