Hâfiz İsmail Müşfik Efendi's Müşfiknâme (review, text, facsimile)

This study on Hâfız İsmail Müşfik Efendi's life, literary personality, and his work Müşfiknâme examines the biographical details and his work, providing a comprehensive insight into both his personal and literary aspects. Hâfız İsmail Müşfik Efendi, despite being one of the prominent poets and writers of his time, has not been sufficiently studied in terms of his impact on literary and cultural history. In this context, the study addresses Müşfik Efendi's poetic and literary talents, his contributions to the newspaper culture of the era, and his proficiency in writing. The research was conducted using methods such as biographical analysis, literary text examination, and historical contextualization. Primary sources like and Fatîn Tezkiresi. Cerîde-i Havâdis and İbnülemin Mahmut Kemal's works, as well as periodicals from the era, were analyzed in depth. It has been determined that Hâfız İsmail Müşfik Efendi was a significant figure in Tanzimat-era Ottoman literature, leading young intellectuals in the fields of journalism, writing, and poetry. However, due to the circumstances of the period and personal tragedies, he lost his mental health and, consequently, his influence in the later stages of his life.
