Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this post graduate thesis is try to enlighten the history and coins of Halikarnassos (today it is known as Bodrum district of Muğla province), one of the cities of the ancient Caria region, in the light of the ancient writers, modern sources, archaeological remains and published inscriptions and coins. After addressing the ancient history of the city, all the published coins were brought together and it was tried to prepare a catalogue. The coins were analyzed according to their types and their relations with the cults in the city were evaluated.
