Abstract (EN)

In this descriptive study, injuries which are based on the declarations of nurses working in a university hospital are examined.Method: In the research we tried to reach all nurses (527) working in the hospital without using sampling method. However, %71.4 percent (n=405) of the nurses have attended the study. In the questionnaire form, which is consisting of 19 questions, sociodemographic and work story properties, near accidents happened in the last month and injuries happened in last six months are examined.Findings: Age average of the nurses is found 32.3±0.3. %60 of the nurses are married, %29.1 are working more than four years and %33.1 are working in the surgery units. Nurses are thinking that chemical materials like drugs have negative effects on their health. The rate of the near accidents experienced by nurses in last month is % 46.4, the rate of injuries happened in last six months is found %60.Results: Most of the injuries are based on blunt-penetring instruments with the average of %42. Work accident rate of employees that has been working less than four years and nurses in surgical unit was found higher. The rate of verbal violence to nurses is found higher then the physical violence. Slip-fall injuries were found to be the biggest cause of slippery floors.Keywords: Nurses, work health, work injuries, near accidents
