Abstract (EN)
This thesis examines the current status of occupational health and safety practices in hospitals, risk factors and preventive measures to be taken within the framework of Finne-Kinney risk assessment method in the case of Reyap Hospital in Esenyurt district of Istanbul. In the study, sharps injuries, biological, chemical, radiation, ergonomic and psycho-social risks faced by hospital employees are discussed in detail; the negative effects of these risks on employee health, work efficiency and organizational performance are discussed. The findings reveal the importance of systematic risk assessments in the prevention of occupational accidents and occupational diseases, as well as the inadequacies of current OHS practices. In this context, strategic measures such as training programs for the protection of employees, increasing the use of personal protective equipment, ergonomic arrangements and the development of psychosocial support mechanisms were suggested. The results of the study show that strengthening occupational health and safety in hospital enterprises will not only improve the quality of life of employees, but will also contribute positively to the economic efficiency of the organization.
