Isolation and investigation of some properties of airbone aerobic endospores basil

Abstract (EN)

In this study, 14 aerobic endospor forming bacilli were isolated from aerial specimens which were collected from 5 different spots of Bigadiç district of Balıkesir province. Obtained Bacillus isolates were identified by biochemical and VITEK identification systems. 4 out of these isolates were B. subtilis, 4 of them were B. pumilus, 1 of them was B. polymyxa, B. megaterium, B. brevis, B. licheniformis and 2 of them were not possibte to be identified. Besides heavy metal and antibiotic resistance the secondary metabolite production of isolated strains were investigated. Heavy metal resistance test is executed by agar dilution method. In minimal inhibition concentration (MIC) test, the highest MIC value against heavy metals was comparable with reference strain (B. subtilis NRRL B-209). When heavy metal percent resistivity values of obtained isolates to reference strain were examined and it is detected that %100 were against copper and cadmium. Antibiotic resistance of isolates were determined with disc diffusion method. As a result, the isolates were resistant to oxacillin (%100), ampicillin (%50) and erythromycin (%7.1). Leigonella pneumophila serogrup 2-15 and Leigonella spp. isolates from gram negative bacteria were used to determine. The ability of producing secondary metabolites of basilic isolates. The ability of producing secondary metabolites of basilic isolates were detected by agar bloc method over these two gram negative bacteries only. Although basilic isolates do not produce antimicrobial activity against Legionella spp., they have shown antimicrobial activity against Leigonella pneumophila serogrup 2-15with diffrerent effect range.
