Abstract (EN)
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is an information system that fulfills the functions of collecting, storing, processing, using, analyzing and presenting all kinds of geographically referenced information obtained by location-based observations as a whole. GIS has numerous application areas, including environmental sciences, hydrology, and water resources. In this study; the borders of Susurluk, Kızılırmak, Seyhan, Ceyhan, Yeşilırmak, Çoruh, Antalya, Euphrates/Dicle, Sakarya, Eastern Mediterranean, Western Black Sea, Eastern Black Sea, Büyük Menderes, Aras Basins were determined using geographic information systems. Then, the physical and flow characteristics of the basins such as area, perimeter, width, minimum, maximum and average height, average slope and drainage density were determined. The study was carried out in Susurluk, Kızılırmak, Seyhan, Ceyhan, Yeşilırmak, Çoruh, Fırat, Antalya, Büyük Menderes, Eastern Mediterranean, Western Black Sea, Aras Basins. The boundaries of the river basin were determined using by ArcGIS software. Then, the morphometric features of the river basins were calculated with the help of the same software. Finally, the results obtained from the program are associated with the installed power and annual production of the HEPPs on the basins.
