Examination of TRT Children's Magazine's in the context of life science lesson curriculum

The aim of this research is to examine TRT Children's Magazine in terms of units, acqusisitons, skills and values in the 2018 Life Sciences Curriculum. In the research, the document analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. The data of the study were obtained from a total of 12 issues of TRT Children's Magazine, which has the highest number of readers in Turkey. Research data were analyzed by content analysis method. As a result of the research, it was concluded that TRT Children's Magazine can be used as an in-class material to assist in the teaching of Life Sciences course. According to the results obtained from the findings of the research, in all the issues examined, the unit with the highest correlation in terms of acqusisitons was the unit named Life in Nature, and the unit with the least association in terms of acqusisitons was the unit of Safe Life. It was seen that in all the examined issues; the 130th issue has the highest acqusition correlation; the issue with the least acqusition correlation was the 120th issue. When all magazines are examined, the most association in terms of acqusisitons is "HB. 1.6.2. He observes the plants in his immediate surroundings.". When TRT Children's Magazines are examined in terms of skills, it is the 130th issue of the issue with the most skill association; it was seen that the issue with the least skill association was the 120th issue. The most attributable skills in all magazines reviewed; research and observation skills, while the least associated personal care and balanced nutrition skills. When TRT Children's Magazines are examined in terms of values, the 122nd issue of the issue with the highest value association; it was seen that the issue with the least value association was the 120th issue. in all the reviewed magazines, the most correlated values were love and responsibility, the least associated values were patience and justice.
