Abstract (EN)
The folklore studies has been carried out by specialist researchers as well as local researchers who are voluntarily interested. In this way, many products that the experts could not reach or detect were compiled and recorded by volunteer researchers. The aim of this study was to gather and analyze the manuscripts of the folklore study by Hayrettin Günay, a retired Turkish Language and Literature teacher, who was born in Giresun-Görele and spent most of his life here, and a volunteer folklore researcher. First of all, information about the life of Hayrettin Gunay was given in line with the interviews, and then the folklore writings of Gunay, who was a volunteer researcher, were sorted and analyzed chronologically. In the biography part of the study, the method of interview was used, and the data obtained from the audio recordings were transcribed with deciphering. In the examination of the studies, archive research and document review methods were used. The publication information of the documents, some of which were obtained from the author himself, and most of them from the archives of the publishing organs, were determined one by one, sorted chronologically, and folklore articles were selected and analyzed among all studies. After the documents were examined, they were recorded and the data were classified according to their subjects. Relevant literature was used during the classification of materials. In the study, folklore articles written by Hayrettin Günay on various subjects such as folk literature, folk music, fiddle tradition, folk dances, transition periods, traditional hunting, carnivals and festivals, children's games, folk language, folk botanic and handicrafts were evaluated. With this study, it was determined that Hayrettin Gunay compiled the folklore products of the region and wrote nearly 500 folklore articles. It was seen that Görele region has an important wealth in terms of folklore by examining Hayrettin Günay's writings based on folklore compilations.
