Abstract (EN)

It is now widely accepted that stress at nursing is a common problem and that it has a very high cost in terms of workers? health, absenteeism and lower performance.The main purpose of this study is to determine stress levels and dimensions of job satisfaction of the nurses worked at university training hospital. In the first chapter, we introduced theoretical concepts and approaches considering work related stress and job satisfaction. This chapter takes a look at the sources of stress, job satisfaction and the relationship between stress and job satisfaction in nursing..In the second chapter, study design was explored. Study problem, hypothesis, population and sampling procedures, data collections tools and statistical methods applied was explained. In the third chapter, we presented main findings of this research.This research was conducted at the foundation university traninig hospital, in Ankara. Questionnaire method was employed to data collection. Descriptive statistical analysis were applied to describe sample socio-demografic chracteristics. To determine independent dimenrsions of stres, factor analysis was apllied. To compare differences between groups, one way analysis variance and ttests were used.Factor analysis extracted seven factors explaining % 67 total variance. Factor structure shaws that main stres factors nurses perceived are, management behaviors and unbalanced work load, dealing with ilness and dying, patient safety, relationship with doctors, kontrol, urgenc decision making, professional development. Main dimensions of job satisfaction are: hospital policy, physical conditions, intirpersonal relationships, wage level, personal factors and control.
