The effect of conscience perception in nurses on job satisfaction and care behaviors

Abstract (EN)
Aim: This research was conducted to determine the effect of nurses' perception of conscience on job satisfaction and care behaviours. Material and Method: The research is of descriptive type. The population of the research working at Gaziantep Dr. Ersin Arslan Training and Research Hospital all nurses (950) and the sample consisted of 338 nurses determined by power analysis. Nurses were selected for the study by simple random sampling method. Data were collected online between June and November 2020. "Personal Information Form", "Conscience Perception Scale", "Nurse Job Satisfaction Scale" and "Caring Behaviours Inventory-30" were used to collect data. Number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent groups t test, One-Way ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis H tests, correlate and Linear regression analysis were used to evaluate the data. Results: It was determined that the mean age of the nurses participating in the study was 28.57±6.19, and 68% of them were female. Nurses got a score of 63.36±12.13 from the Conscience Perception Scale and a high level of conscience perception, a total of 3.41±0.69 points from the Nurse Job Satisfaction Scale, and a high level of job satisfaction and a total of 150.42±21.22 points from the Care Behaviours Inventory-30. and care perceptions were found to be high. It was determined that nurses' perception of conscience was effective on their job satisfaction and care behaviours (R=.398, Adjusted R2=.158, p=0.000). Conclusion: It was determined that the nurses participating in the study had a high perception of conscience, and their perceptions of conscience positively affected their job satisfaction and caring behaviours.
