A research on factors related with life quality of hypertensive patients

Hypertension is one of the most important medical conditions nowadays. As hypertension treatment continues all life ,you must pay attention to the individual?s life quality as much as changes in blood pressure . However,both in Turkey and in the world rates of hypertension control are rather below what is expected.The purpose of this study is to examine the factors related to life quality of those people with hypertension. This study includes a group of 100 patients receiving medical treatment for hypertension without staying in hospital and another voluntary group of 100 people with no hypertension and with no other medical conditions.In this study, the demographic data of the patients, their consumption of alcohol and cigarettes, their habit of diet and exercising, Body Mass Index (BMI), the story of their illness, average values of blood pressure, total cholesterol levels and the medical treatment they receive have been assessed.The scales of their life quality have been examined on the groups and meaningful differences have been found. The results show that the group with the health condition has a poor life quality compared to the other group with no health problemTherefore, according to the study results we can conclude that hypertension affects people?s life quality in a negative way. Smoking, consumption of alcohol, obesity, the lack of seeing a doctor regularly, diet with too much sodium intake and not measuring blood pressure regularly are found to be related to the life quality of people with hypertensionWe need to educate the people with hypertension in society about the harms of smoking and obesity, the importance of seeing a doctor regularly, having a diet with much less sodium intake, measuring blood pressure regularly and taking medicine. These people have to change their life style in a better way .
