Abstract (EN)

Thiourea derivatives are important compounds that have sulphur and nitrogen atoms and they play important roles in medical field with various pharmacological activities such as antimicrobial, antiviral, antidiabetic, and anticancer activity in recent years. In this study, twelwe novel chiral thiourea derivatives [1a-10a and 1b-10b] as enantiomer pairs were synthesized in high yields by the reaction of (R)-(+)-1-(2-naphthyl)ethylamine/(S)-(-)-1-(2-naphthyl)ethylamine with various 4-substituted phenyl isothiocyanate in dichloromethane at room temperature. The chemical structures of chiral thioureas were elucidated by UV-Vis, FT IR, ¹H NMR, 13C NMR, MS spectroscopic techniques and elemental analysis (CHNS) as well as of physical and chemical methods.
