Investigation of Hubris syndrome according to some demographic factors

Power has been the most decisive element of life since the beginning of the existence of living things. From prehistoric times to the present, power has emerged in various forms by metamorphosing as physical, mental and material power. Hubris, which is one of the greatest side effects of power, can be summarized as the misuse of power by a leader to behave in a negative way against himself and the people around them and even all the people under their protection. In this thesis, it has been mentioned that what hubris is, the reasons for its formation, how it develops from childhood to adulthood, how environmental and family factors leave traces and how hubris is formed and developed after power is obtained. The behavior patterns applied by managers with Hubris syndrome to their employees were taken as the subject of research and a survey was conducted with the employees of workplaces operating in the tourism sector in Antalya to define the characteristic features of hubris. In this survey study, demographic characteristics such as age groups, gender, manager level were used and the analysis of the answers given was examined in line with these characteristics. As a result of this study, studies were carried out to determine the presence of Hubris syndrome in the managers where the people who participated in the survey worked, depending on demographic factors.
