Abstract (EN)

The rapidly increasing consumption of energy and natural resources in recent years affects the world on a global scale in terms of environmental, economic, and social aspects. In this case, environmentally friendly strategies should be determined for buildings that constitute a large part of energy and natural resource consumption in the world. At the same time, these strategies should have the qualities that will enable human beings to lead a healthy and comfortable life. Among these strategies, indoor air quality, indoor user comfort and human health, natural ventilation have an important role. This study includes literature research on these three concepts and includes a field study in an office building in Ankara. With this field study, a questionnaire, indoor air quality measurements and simulations revealing the natural ventilation potential of the office building were made to see the effect of indoor air quality on user satisfaction. In the light of these data, design suggestions for natural ventilation in the office building were made and supported by simulations. In the conclusion part, it includes the interpretation of the field studies in the data of the literature review. Key words: Indoor Air Quality, Indoor User Comfort and Human Health, Natural Ventilation.
