Abstract (EN)

In this study Mahmud II period state and sect relations are examined. In this direction, the aim of the research, in the period covering the years 1808-1839 the reciprocal relationship between the state and Naqshbandi sect is to reveol how it is supported by the state. In addition, the quentions of the research in line with main purpose are; what is the extent of the relotions of the Naqshbandi sect with the sultan, statesmen, people and other orders; how is the control of tekke and zaviyes corried out; how are sheikh appointments and dismissals performed; what are the aids provided by the state to tekke and zaviyes; what are the problems experienced between the state, sect, sheikh and calips. In the period of Mahmud II; ıt is aimed to determine the mutual relations of the state and sect, their effects and copyrighted works. In order to archive documents and scaning and documentation models were preferred among qualitative research methods. In the study, among qualitative data collection tecniques, document analysis and descriptive analysis. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the state and the sect act in cooperation and solidarity. In addition, they continued to support each other, even though some problems or gudicial issues were experienced from time to time. Keywords: State, Sheikh, Sect, Tekke, Zaviye
