Abstract (EN)
From the date of its establishment to the date of its collapse, the Ottoman Empire gave importance to creating an atmosphere of peace and security within the state, and to ensure security. In the 19th century, more attention was paid to the internal security of the city, as many tourists came to the capital, Istanbul. Beyoglu, Galata district has been seen as the city's gateway to Europe, and efforts have been made to leave a better impression on the tourists who come here. In this context, we examined how the Ottoman Empire ensured security in the entertainment venues in the district without preventing the people from having fun, with the news in the Ikdam newspaper, and evaluated the punishments given by the Ottoman Empire to the events.
