At primary school 4 and 5 classes, in the unit of, "let's wonder and recognize world of living beings" science and technology subject, the effact of project based learning to academic achievement and retention level

In the study, at primary school 4 and 5 classes, in the unit of ?Effect Wonder andRecognize World of Living Beings?, Science and Technology subject, the influence of projectbased learning to academic achievement and retention level was examined. This research wasapplied by comparing traditional learning, used in schools commonly, with project basedlearning. Experiment group and control group were formed by students in class 4 and 5; inexperiment group, subjects were applied by project based learning and in control group,subjects were applied by traditional learning. Before the research, pretests covering unitsubjects, were held to experiment and control groups. At the rest of the research, a post-testwas held and a permanence test was held a month later. As a result of pretest, post-test andpermanence test, it was determined that experiment groups were more successful than controlgroups and relating to this, it was realized that project based learning was effective inacademic success and retention level.
