The investigation of levels of realization attainments related to "environmental awareness" and "information technology" in primary education curriculum

The purpose of this study is to determine the achievement level of the attainments related to both "environmental awareness" and "information technology" which takes place in the primary education curriculum. In the study also it is aimed to determine students" level of environmental awareness, their attitudes to information technologies and their literacy about information technologies for a variety of variables. In the research, quantitative data collecting tools were used. In order to measure students' environmental awareness "environmentally sensitive scale", in order to measure attitudes towards information technology "attitude scale towards information technology" in order to determine information technology literacy "success test towards information technology literacy " was developed. From the outcomes of the research, it can be stated that environment insensitivity of the students is low, but environment sensitivity is relatively at high level. The students? indifferences and concerns towards IT are low and negatives whereas their dependency and interest are at mid-level and positive. The 8th grade students? IT literacy levels are modarete. The eight grade students' attitudes towards information technology, lack of interest, addiction, anxiety and attention variables together, students insensitivity to the environment and environmental sensitivity scores indicate a moderate and significant relationship. The eighth grade students' IT literacy scores indicates a low level and significant relationship with their environmental insensitivity. The eight grade students' attitudes towards information technology, variables of addiction, anxiety and interest, there is a moderate and significant relationship to their information technology literacy scores.
