Examination of opinions on the difficulties encountered in the rhetoric and professional practice course in Imam Hatip High Schools and Theology Faculties

This research aims to identify the challenges encountered in the implementation of Rhetoric and Professional Practice courses in Theology Faculties and Imam Hatip High Schools, as well as the external aspects of the course, such as practical applications. The study is structured as a case study, fitting into the qualitative research methods. The most suitable data collection tools for the research topic were chosen as "focus group discussions" and interviews with a semi-structured interview form. The data source comprises all the teachers of Rhetoric and Professional Practice in five Imam Hatip High Schools located in the city center of Afyonkarahisar and final-year students of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences at Afyon Kocatepe University. The data obtained in the scope of the research were evaluated through content analysis. According to the findings of the research, difficulties arising from the school, teacher, student, and the environment are present in Rhetoric and Professional Practice courses in Imam Hatip High Schools. In the Theology Faculty, problems were observed stemming from the course content, the prospective teacher candidate, and the environment. In the conclusion and recommendations section of the research, these problems are highlighted, and solutions are proposed.
