Investigation of safety culture in construction firms

Abstract (EN)
In developing countries, especially in the construction sector is the sector of the locomotive. As known, Turkish construction sector expands its business volume at abroad day by day. As a parallel, the number of people working in the construction sector is increasing every day. The level of education of the people who works in construction sector is low and according to Social Security Administration's statistics which published every year shows that one of three people died in accidents at work is belong to construction sectors. In this study, face to face interviews were conducted with workers and twenty-five item survey was filled. A factor analysis was done to measure the level of occupational safety culture of the workers who work in construction companies and was analyzed using the SPSS program. In addition, with the demographic questions in the survey, the factors such as age, experience whether related to culture has been described with ANOVA test.
