The place of the unmanned air vehicles in defence industry and the importance of them from the point of Turkish foreign policy

Throughout history, all states have made efforts to improve their defenses to protect their borders and citizens. Defense technologies have been an important element in this regard. The defense industry is an issue that needs to be addressed together with its military, political, financial and technological headings. The defense industry element of the states is a very important value that combines security requirements with the country's industry and technology. In this context, the importance of the relationship between the contribution of our domestically produced Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to our defense industry and Turkey's international position in foreign policy is increasing. Firstly in the study Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and their importance, the usage areas of UAVs and their advantages and disadvantages, our national production unmanned aerial vehicles, the status and policies of defense unmanned aerial vehicles of countries such as the USA, Russia, China and the United Kingdom were examined. In this context, the investments of countries in unmanned aerial vehicles for selfprotection, economic and political situations and the concrete results of these investments are included. Secondly, the concept and importance of the defense industry, the costs and characteristics of the defense industry, the periodization of the development of Türkiye's defense industry, the policies in the field of defense industry in the first years of the Republic, Türkiye's admission to NATO and the Cyprus Peace Operation are discussed. The redesign of the national defense industry in the period after the Cyprus Peace Operation, the developments in the defense industry during the AK Party period, the organizations established for the development of Türkiye's defense industry and to support it, the decisions of countries such as the USA, Russia and China towards the defense industry and the products of these decisions are discussed. In this context, the defense industry situation and developments of countries for self-protection, economic and political situations and the concrete results of the developments are included. Finally the periodic outlines of Turkish Foreign Policy based on the defense industry in Türkiye, the factors affecting these processes, their status in foreign policy from the 1980s to the present, Türkiye's threat perceptions and terrorism problems, and the success of the Turkish Armed Forces and the Turkish defense industry in operations and wars are included.
