International students' academic performance in Türkiye

Foreign students often prefers to study in European countries, and this is why Türkiye has been facing the wave of international students for many years, but in recent years it has witnessed an influx of these students from every corner of the world, and this is why the number of students and immigrants has doubled in every city and university in Türkiye. International students in fighting to ensure that they get a good education and fulfill their mission in the country of Türkiye have to go through various challenges in their life of seeking education. Therefore, this study will examine international student's academic performance through this main challenges, Turkish language skills, social interaction and integration, universal discrimination, self-efficacy, and the effect of social media. This study is focused on the fact that there is a great need and importance to examine and understand the specific challenges to understand how much these challenges affect academic success of international students. For these reasons, the study makes very clear as the problem statement to investigate the effects of Turkish language skills, community integration, universal discrimination, self-efficacy, and the effect of social media for all international students who continue their studies in Türkiye. Data is collected from a sample of 140 participants who identified themselves as international University students and who are currently studying in Türkiye. Therefore, the study will investigate the following questions: To what extent do Turkish language skills, community integration, existence of discrimination, self-efficacy, and social media affect international students? How do these factors relate to these international students? This study will contribute to a certain extent in the aspect of the review related to the literature in the academic world.
