Abstract (EN)
This thesis analyzes the determinants of internet and mobile banking usage. The research examines the factors affecting internet and mobile banking usage in Level 1 regions of Turkey. The study evaluates the impact of various variables such as the demographic characteristics of individuals, access to technology, and internet usage on internet and mobile banking usage. The results of the study reveal that demographic factors such as gender, age, education level, household income, employment status, and frequency of internet use significantly influence internet and mobile banking usage. Additionally, individuals' online activities such as purchasing goods and services over the internet, downloading software and mobile applications, and being active on social media are important factors affecting internet and mobile banking usage. Regional analyses show that the likelihood of internet and mobile banking use by individuals living in TR4 and TR5 regions is influenced by factors such as geolocation access and reading privacy policies. Furthermore, gender has been found to play a determining role in internet and mobile banking usage in these regions. The thesis emphasizes that policymakers and banks should develop strategies to expand internet and mobile banking by considering demographic and behavioral factors. In this context, increasing access to technology and digital literacy will enable internet and mobile banking services to reach a wider audience.
