Abstract (EN)

Metal manufacturing industry is an important sector in our country. Work accidents and occupational diseases are frequently seen in this sector. Therefore, in order to provide a safe working environment, it is necessary to identify hazards, make risk assessments and take preventive measures. For this purpose, in the study we carried out in a metal factory in Elazig, the risk levels were determined using the Fine - Kinney method. As a result of our studies, a total of 117 risk levels have been determined, including 16 intolerable risks, 24 essential risks, 25 significant risks, 12 probable risks and 40 unimportant risks, considering the current situations. The distribution of the determined risk levels according to the evaluated hazards and the average values of the risk levels are given in tables. In order to completely eliminate the identified risks or to minimize their effects, suggested corrective – preventive actions have been applied and the new levels that the risks can take are shown in percentiles. As a result, according to the data we have obtained, it will be possible to prevent work accidents and occupational diseases by applying the measures to be taken for possible risks in the metal sector.
