Abstract (EN)
Objective: This descriptive study was conducted to identify factors that affect general health status 6-18 years of hearing impaired children and adolescents.Method: Sample of the survey, training in İzmir, for the hearing impaired two primary schools (Tülay Aktaş Hearing Impaired Elementary School, Şehit Oktay Ardıç Hearing Impaired Elementary School) and a training program in high school (Mert Öztüre Vocational School for the Hearing Impaired) of 106 students has created. Research data was collected using Child Health Questionnaire (CHQ). Data for evaluating "T-test and one-way analysis of variance" was used.Results: CHQ mean scores of children and adolescents are as follows: general health 82.7 ± 29.9 Physical function 87.6 ± 20.5, emotional / behavioral role 84.5 ± 21.9, physical role 84.6 ± 23.9, body pain 85.7 ± 18.9, 79.5 ± 17.6 Behavior, Mental health 71.4 ± 20.2, self-esteem 84.3 ± 19.9, general health perception 61.4 ± 18.7, difference 4.0 ± 1.0 in Health, Family emotional impact of 59.7 ± 28.2, Family time effect 21.9 ± 86.0, Family activities 83.5 ± 20.3, 69.0 ± 26.7 family commitment, physical health 47.4 ± 10.2, psychological health 49.4 ± 9.5.Among adolescents and 6-12 age group children, physical function (p=0.028), behavior (p=0.000), mental health (p=0.014), general health perception (p=0.013), family time effect (p=0.002), family activities (p=0.048), physical (p=0.026) and psychological health (p=0.006) mean scores; in the family according to the number of children, physical role (p=0.000), family commitment (p=0.024) and physical health (p=0.016) scores in average; according to educational level of mothers, bodily pain subscale (p=0.012); according to economic status, physical role - social restrictions subscale (p=0.027) statistically significant differences were found.Conclusion: In order to identify factors that affect levels of health hearing impaired children and adolescents that made this work in general health status of children and adolescents were found to be positive. Factors affecting the level of health, age, number of siblings, education level of mother, and social ? economic level is determined as.Key words: Hearing impaired, children, Child Health Questionnaire, health.
