Najis treatmentin Islamic law: The example of pig

In this study, the pig sample is examined in the context of treatment with najis, and opinions on whether treatment with najis is necessary or not are given. In the introduction part of this study, which consists of an introduction and three parts, the subject, purpose, importance, method, scope and limitations of the research are discussed. In the first chapter, the concepts of najis, haram and necessity, which form the basis of our subject, are mentioned. Then, the place of the pig in divine religions is given chronologically. In the second part, the provision of treatment in Islamic Law is discussed, and the views of the sects about treatment with najis substances are given. As an example of najis treatment, the use of pig in the treatment has been examined. As the first example of the use of pigs in treatment, firstly, pig-containing substances used in medicines were mentioned. Then, organ transplantation from pig to human was discussed. Under this title, pig-to-human heart valve transplantation, kidney transplantation and heart transplantation are mentioned in medical terms. The study was concluded by evaluating whether the use of pig, which is an example of the use of najis substance in treatment, will be a necessity in treatment. In the study, it has been determined that the use of pork or pork-containing substances, which are religiously impure, becomes the only method in treatment and is considered within the scope of necessity if there is no alternative. Although we do not have clear information about the possibility that the reason for the preference of pigs in the treatment is the financial advantages of rapid production and rapid calving, İt has been concluded that the realization of this possibility -despite the existence of an alternative substance- will exclude the use of these substances in treatment from the scope of necessity.
