Abstract (EN)
Folk medicine can be defined as self-treatment with traditional methods applied by the people against health problems. This study includes folk medicine practices, hearths, other treatment centers and their disease treatment methods applied in the present or known to be applied in the past in Isparta and its central villages. The research area covers the central neighborhoods and villages within the borders of Isparta province. Her research area, which is wide in history and trend, is an important center in the tradition of dairy medicine, beliefs and practices. Folk medicine practices, which still exist today, are seen by the people of the region as an alternative to modern medicine or as a source of healing together with modern medicine.People also resort to folk medicine treatment methods in case of health problems they encounter; He goes to quarries, khojas, healers, fracture-dislocations, healing waters and places of visit to which they attribute holiness (mausoleum, altar, grave, holed stone, tree, etc.). In this study, which consists of five chapters together with the introduction and conclusion, the subject of folk medicine and its situation in Isparta were examined. Folk medicine practices applied in the region with various methods were determined by field research and evaluated based on written sources. Observation and interview techniques were used to determine the data. Folk medicine, which is a part of the intangible cultural heritage, has come to the present day by being transferred from generation to generation together with the cultural codes it contains.It has been tried to evaluate the change and transformation of folk medicine practices determined in the research area from the past to the present with various factors in this transfer process. The treatment practices of the diseases in the region were examined one by one under the headings, and the hearths and places of visit that preserved their functionality were emphasized.Belief, as one of the most important factors in the treatment of diseases, is at the core of all healing practices and it is thought that healing will be found when the practices are believed. It has been seen that folk medicine practices, which are widely known by the people of the region, are frequently used in modern life, and the factors related to this situation are evaluated in the conclusion part of the study.
