Abstract (EN)

In this context, the aim of this study is to determine the relationship between the perception of touristic destinations and the acquisition of housing by foreigners from destinations. It has been sought to answer questions such as whether the destination image is highly positive, whether foreigners have an impact on the decision to purchase real estate, and which features of the destination stand out in purchasing decisions. In this context, a semi-structured interview form was applied to real estate investment advisors in Istanbul. In this context, 50 investment advisors working in Remax, Coldwell Banker, Realty World and Kerry Williams Real Estate Consultancy companies operating in Istanbul were interviewed between 01.02.2019 and 27.02.2019. Important themes, derived from answers and opinions of participants were highlighted. As a result of the study, it was determined that citizens of the most of the Arab countries in the Middle East try to bought real estate in Istanbul. It is determined that the attractiveness of destinations, the modern life style of the city, political developments and the exchange rate are effective in the purchase decision of foreign tourists. On the other hand, it was determined that the image of Istanbul was influential on the purchase of real estate of foreign tourists in Istanbul rather than the general country image.
