Abstract (EN)

This research was carried out to evaluate the global warming attitudes of firefighters working in Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department. The participants of the study consist of two hundred firefighters. In the research study, a 13-question questionnaire created by the researcher and the "Global Warming Attitude Scale" taken from the literature were used as data collection tools. The questionnaire and scale data were obtained from the firefighters through face-to-face interviews. Statistical evaluation of the data was made with t-test, one-way analysis of variance and multiple linear regression analysis. In line with the data obtained, it has been found that the global warming attitudes of firefighter personnel differ statistically according to their age groups, total years of service and educational status. Global attitudes of firefighters; No statistically significant difference was found according to their marital status, location of their workplaces and place of residence. In addition, the global warming attitudes of the firefighters are calculated as high. It has been determined that the readiness of some firefighters to respond to a possible forest fire is weak. In addition, it has been determined that the firefighters have a lack of knowledge about global warming. Depending on the results of the study, the evaluations and suggestions were forward.
