Abstract (EN)

Behind the Committee of Union and Progress is the "New Ottomans" movement. The thought of the New Ottomans, or the Young Turk as it is called in the West, is based on the idea of an economic liberalism and an "Ottoman homeland", the control that will pave the way for the local bourgeoisie, as well as constitutionalism. The mentality at the beginning of the Republic began to take shape in the process of Westernization/Modernization, which was transferred from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic of Turkey with developments and took the Western states as an example. The Committee of Union and Progress, which emerged as a young intellectual opposition movement, gradually assumed the political power after 1908, and became a source for the transformation of many state mechanisms with its policies and ideas transferred to the public administration of the Republic.
